Breaking: Three members of the newly-formed VeteransRespond organization have been arrested less than 24 hours from arriving in the Cannon Ball, North Dakota area. VeteransStand raised money to send members to the Standing Rock tribe in order to help protect protesters in their final fight over the Dakota Access Pipeline.
A co-founder of VeteransRespond was arrested for drug charges on Saturday (Feb. 11) after a stop at a bridge on Highway 1806, in the center of the main protest camp area.
His arrest follows the Friday arrest of two other VeteransRespond members in nearby South Dakota, who had drugs, explosive materials and body armor in their vehicles. It’s believed they were on their way to Standing Rock as well.
